Clown in a Cornfield 3: The Church of Frendo – Slower Start, Bloody Finish

I’ve been all-in with this series since book one, so I went into Clown in a Cornfield 3: The Church of Frendo with high expectations. While I liked it, this one didn’t quite hit as hard for me as the first two. The pacing felt slower early on, and I found myself waiting for the story to hit that sharp, slasher energy I have come to love.

But once the final act kicked in, it did not stop. The last stretch is pure chaos — fast, bloody, and tense in all the right ways. Adam Cesare still knows how to deliver that wild, over-the-top energy that makes this series so fun.

Final Thoughts

This might be my least favorite entry so far, but Clown in a Cornfield 3: The Church of Frendo still delivers when it counts. The slower start is balanced out by a wild, non-stop final act — and if Cesare decides to send Frendo back out for another round, I’ll have my ticket ready.

It honestly surprises me that I love this series as much as I do, because I can’t handle horror movies at all. Somehow it’s different on the page — I still get the heart-pounding moments, but I don’t have to watch through my fingers.

Rating: ★★★½☆ (3.5/5)
